Board of Directors
Chuck Sheldon, the chairman of Network Hardware Resale’s board of directors since January 2006, served as the company’s chief executive officer until his retirement in December 2005. Chuck Sheldon founded Network Hardware Resale (originally named Strand Computer Resale) in 1986. The company initially focused on the purchase and resale of IBM computers and communications equipment. The product strategy evolved to keep pace with technology, and, by 1996, Network Hardware Resale had become a pioneer in the secondary networking equipment market.
Before founding Network Hardware Resale, Mr. Sheldon had a varied career in politics, technology sales, business writing and real estate. It was during his term as Mayor of Hermosa Beach, California that Mr. Sheldon, already a technology industry veteran, began Strand Computer Resale as a part-time, home-based business. He began his technology career with IBM in the mid-1960s where he spent 15 years in a variety of marketing, sales management and strategic planning positions.
An accomplished entrepreneur and businessman, Mr. Sheldon has contributed his expertise to articles and served as a mentor to many young business people. He was recognized as a regional finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and under his leadership Network Hardware Resale has been honored by local and national publications, including Inc. Magazine, for its rapid growth and financial stability.
Mr. Sheldon is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife of 40 years Missy live in Santa Barbara, California where their two sons and five young grandchildren also make their homes.
Andrew D. Feshbach, a member of Network Hardware Resale’s board of directors, is chief executive officer and director of Big Dog Holdings, Inc. a developer and retailer of branded, lifestyle consumer products consisting of Big Dogs and The Walking Company.
Since acquiring the Big Dog brand in 1992, Mr. Feshbach has grown Big Dogs from four stores to a well-known national retail chain with approximately 200 locations. The company went public in 1997and has generated more than $1 billion in total sales and been profitable every year of operations since Mr. Feshbach took the helm. In 2004, Big Dogs acquired The Walking Company Inc., which has been one of the fastest growing retail chains in America since its acquisition and is now the world’s leading retailer of comfort shoes.
Prior to Big Dogs, Mr. Feshbach managed mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for Fortune Financial and Maiden Lane Associates, both private merchant banks, as well as Bear Stearns & Co. Mr. Feshbach was an equity owner, director and CFO at Fortune Fashions, a Fortune Financial portfolio company and custom manufacturer of embellished apparel, for 10 years.
Mr. Feshbach holds an MBA from Harvard University and an A.B. degree from the University of California at Berkeley in economics. He resides in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and two daughters.
Jamie Greenwald, a member of Network Hardware Resale’s board of directors, was a managing director with Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division until he retired from the company in 2005.
Mr. Greenwald’s successful 19-year career in investment banking included 10 years at Morgan Stanley where he held a variety of senior leadership roles. He joined the company in 1995 as a managing director in the Institutional Equity Division. In that role, he led an international team in solving commercial and investment problems for corporations, insurance companies, pension funds and investment managers around the world. From 1996 to 1999, he relocated to London to rebuild and manage the company’s European Equity Derivative and Portfolio Trading business. As the economy softened in early 2000, he led a successful initiative to apply technology to streamline operational processes and costs in Morgan Stanley’s more complex products and businesses.
Most recently, Mr. Greenwald served as manager of the company’s product innovation team. In that capacity, he spearheaded certain internal and external firm investments in the financial software and internet arena while seeking cutting-edge new businesses and directing the division’s product development and distribution strategy. He also managed the company’s Financing Products Group. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was a managing director at Merrill Lynch as well as a vice president at Bankers Trust in New York
Mr. Greenwald has holds a bachelor’s of science in finance from the University of Vermont. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Kolleen and their four children.
John Sheldon is Network Hardware Resale’s Senior Vice President, North America and a member of the company’s board of directors. As senior VP, his responsibilities include sales management, development and strategic planning. His leadership builds on more than a decade as visionary and driving force behind NHR’s sales organization.
John Sheldon joined his father Chuck Sheldon at Network Hardware Resale in 1995 as the company’s second employee. John immediately assumed a lead role in the company’s fast-growing sales organization. Following his success developing strategic accounts, John was promoted to vice president of sales where he led the organization to record revenues. Subsequently, Network Hardware Resale was named to the prestigious “Inc 500” list of America’s fastest growing private companies four times between 2000 and 2003. In 2005, John marked ten years in sales leadership as the company exceeded 100 employees and $105 million in annual revenue. Under his guidance, the company continues to reach and surpass new goals.
John Sheldon is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and two children.
John W. Young, a member of Network Hardware Resale’s board of directors, led strategic human resources and organizational design at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for more than 20 years until his retirement from the company in 2004.
Most recently, Mr. Young served as executive vice president at Four Seasons responsible for overseeing management selection, training, performance management, manpower planning, career path planning, management development, succession planning, labor/employee relations, employee communications as well as compensation and benefits policies for the company worldwide. Young played a pivotal organizational role as the chain experienced rapid global growth, expanding to more than 60 hotels and resorts in 29 countries with more than 32,000 employees.
Mr. Young joined Four Seasons in 1983 as vice president of human resources. Prior to Four Seasons, Mr. Young held executive and senior human resource management positions with Lex Service Group, Dowty Group Limited (now part of TI-Messier) and the Hoover Company.
Mr. Young currently makes his home in Carmel, Calif., where he serves as a consultant in the media, educational and service sectors. He also is on the board of Elizabeth Arden Salons and Spas and Equinox Fitness as well as an operating advisor to North Castle Partners. Throughout his Four Seasons career, he served as a member of the Advisory Board for the School of Hospitality at Ryerson Polytechnic University, where he was also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board, Faculty of Business.
Mr. Young holds an M.A. from the University of Edinburgh and subsequently completed post-graduate studies in personnel management. Additionally, in 1981, he earned a master’s degree in organizational behavior. He holds the professional designation Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP.)
Mike Sheldon is President and Chief Executive Officer of Network Hardware Resale and provides leadership and strategic direction for this growing global reseller of networking equipment. Under Mr. Sheldon’s guidance, NHR continues to post record revenues and expand its operations. The company currently employs more than 200 people in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Sheldon joined the company in 2001 as Vice President of Sales and was named CEO in January 2006. Prior to joining NHR, Sheldon had a successful career in investment banking with UBS and Barclays Capital in New York and London. Upon joining NHR, he applied his knowledge of investment management to NHR’s supply chain and sales processes to create a data-driven procurement and sales organization that is among the most knowledgeable and agile in the secondary market.
Mike Sheldon holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from MIT where he also studied mathematics. He is a founding member and president of the Used Network Equipment Dealer Association (UNEDA), a professional association of secondary market dealers focused on ensuring integrity and fighting counterfeit in the secondary market. Mr. Sheldon resides in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and three children.
Robert C. Lowes, a member of Network Hardware Resale’s board of directors, served as chief financial officer of Tricon Global Restaurants from 1997 until his retirement from the company in 1999. Mr. Lowes led the spin-off, merger, financial re-engineering and subsequent turnaround of Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Pepsi Restaurants International into the then newly created Tricon Global. Under Mr. Lowes leadership, Tricon dramatically reduced its debt and saw earnings per share increase 44%.
Mr. Lowes has a wealth of experience in building and turning around high-profile businesses worldwide. Prior to Tricon, he held the position of chairman and CEO of Burger King Corporation, managing director of Grand Metropolitan Foods Europe as well as CFO of Pillsbury and Oscar Mayer Foods. During his highly successful career, Lowes led a long list of worldwide consumer brands, including Burger King, Haagen-Dazs, Oscar Mayer and others to record development, earnings and market share.
Mr. Lowes is currently an adjunct professor of economics at University of California, Santa Barbara. He holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in international relations from Michigan State University as well as a bachelor’s in management from the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Lowes and his wife live in the Santa Barbara area. |
